Website Management Services

Web management for updates, maintenance & support, monitoring, backups, reporting & planning
Publishing your website is just the start. Whilst a website is open for business on a 24/7 basis (give or take the odd calamity!) there are inevitably on-site issues that will develop over time, as well as issues brought about by changes in software standards or technology; for example the advent of mobile browsers. Ensuring your website remains fresh, updating and revising your content, finding and fixing broken links, optimising your traffic for conversions, all of these factors, and more, need your attention. Keeping abreast of these things is essential to give your visitors a good user experience and to ensure you're giving your website the best chance to perform.

Website Management - FAQ
Why do I need to use a web management service?
The internet is a constantly changing environment, browsing habits and technology will continue to evolve. What works today will not be optimal tomorrow. Website visitors are getting smarter and more demanding. Security threats are constant. Your online brand needs to be resilient to these factors. If you lack the in-house resources, or time, to cover this yourself then a web management service will give you peace of mind that you're covered as best as you can be.
Will I know how many visitors my website gets?
Yes, I'll implement both Google Analytics and also Google Search Console if you don't already have them. These two tools are essential for getting a clear picture of what's happening on your website, discovering issues for improving performance, and measuring and understanding how your visitors interact with your website. You'll receive regular analytics reports and our consultations will provide an opportunity for explanation, if required.
What happens if my website goes down?
Downtime is inevitable at some point, which may be caused by an issue with the hosting servers, but more significantly may be a security breach, and needs prompt action to protect your brand. I monitor websites as part of my Web Management service and can respond to these events promptly on your behalf. Working with the hosting provider if necessary, I'll get things up and running again as soon as possible. I'll also keep you informed throughout the process.
Can you advise me with planning & stategy?
Yes, it's an important part of moving things forward, you can use the consultations I offer as an opportunity to bounce ideas around and to get access to my experience to help with your forward planning.
Does the web management package include SEO?
No, not directly, but by ensuring that your website is performing well, and using your analytics and monitoring data, SEO gains will be achieved. If you want to accelerate SEO for your website then talk to me about a combined web management and SEO consultancy service and I'll offer you a bespoke package.

I have been employing the services of Mark at Splash Web for over ten years now and found the quality of his advice and service to be very good. The prices are very reasonable and Mark gives good advice without fudging the issue and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. He also helped me secure some useful domains for both of my websites. As I run a small business Mark understands I need to keep my costs down so he gives good advice on which areas to spend my limited funds.— Alick, Rutland Woodcraft
