About Splash Web
Search Marketing Freelancer

When I started Splash Web back in 2000 I'd already gained enough experience designing and promoting websites to realise what a good fit the Internet was going to be for me. It met my desire for flexible and remote working, satisfied my interest in technology, and fed my inquisitive and technical mind.
I've since watched the emergence of Overture's Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising, a search engine called Google and then later, a thing called Social Media.
How things have changed! The complexities of the internet have increased tenfold and the challenges of making an impact similarly. I've focused on building small business (SME) websites, consulting in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and developing my own in-house projects; often as a test bed for learning SEO.
In 2002 I discovered the value of domain names (web addresses) and became a "domainer", acquiring and trading .uk domains, something which continues to this day.
Now, as an experienced freelancer, I've specialised in Technical SEO, on-page SEO and off-page SEO and offer SEO consultancy services and SEO audits to small business owners, in-house marketing managers and digital agencies.
The growth of website builders and online content management systems allows me to also offer Wix and WordPress websites and maintenance, where my experience ensures that SEO considerations are there from the start.
My portfolio of premium UK domain names provides opportunities for purchasing a quality web address for your next online venture.
I'm based near Peterborough in the East Midlands, but mainly work remotely, focusing on technology related businesses within the UK market. If you'd like to know more, the on-page FAQ's should answer some of your questions, otherwise please get in touch.
Background
I came to the internet in the mid-nineties whilst living in Aotearoa New Zealand and was immediately excited by the technology and the fantastic opportunities it was going to offer us all. At that time I set up an ecommerce store, for my then employer, selling classic British motorcycle parts worldwide, which over time helped grow the business significantly. I returned to the UK in 2000 to set up Splash Web.
I've always enjoyed technology, but this all seems a long way from having previously spent over ten years in the UK manufacturing sector. This included being a time-served mechanical engineer at chronometer and gauging equipment makers Thomas Mercer, and later, technical sales roles in industrial automation systems, with ABB Robotics and Fanuc Robotics UK . I graduated with an MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Technology at Cranfield University
(formerly the Cranfield Institute of Technology) in the UK.
